What if I follow a keto or carnivore diet?

Although the carnivore and keto are popular diets, they are often not sustainable. Both do promote a higher protein intake, which is important for satiety and muscle growth, but they limit carbohydrate intake.

Carbohydrates are the body's primary source of energy, fueling essential functions like brain activity, physical movement, and cellular processes. They provide quick energy, especially for high-intensity exercise, and are crucial for maintaining stable blood sugar levels. Carbs also support gut health through fiber, which aids digestion and helps regulate bowel movements. Without adequate carbs, the body may struggle to perform optimally, leading to fatigue, brain fog, and decreased physical performance.

The evidence we do have, specifically on high saturated fat intake and fiber intake, also counteracts the principles of the carnivore diet, which is why we especially do not recommend pursuing this diet.
